Green Energy Incentive Program

The City of Santa Clarita will be providing grants up to $25,000 to eligible businesses who conduct various energy activities through the assistance of the Green Energy Incentive Program. Grants through this program will be provided to local businesses who achieve one or more of the following objectives: Reduce total energy use; Reduce greenhouse gas emissions; Reduce fossil fuel emissions; and/or Improve energy efficiency. Success for this program will be measured by the number of jobs created, the amount of energy saved, the capacity of the renewable energy installed, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and the leveraging of existing resources and funds. Recovery Zone Facility Bond Program

Recovery Zone Facility Bonds (RZFBs) offer businesses limited-time access to tax-exempt financing for a wide variety of projects. Businesses with projects that can otherwise qualify for conventional financing should consider this program! RZFBs will only be available until December 31, 2010, and there is a limited amount of this financing available. If you are interested in taking advantage of this program you must act fast! Use Tax Incentive Program

The City of Santa Clarita is committed to creating a pro-business environment where local businesses can be successful. This voluntary program is designed to incentivize business expansion and increase investment in the community. By participating in this program, the use tax your business already pays will be allocated locally to our community, creating funds for parks, roads, fire and sheriffs, instead of being distributed to other communities. Santa Clarita Enterprise Zone

The Enterprise Zone is a state-initiated tax savings program designed to stimulate the economy and return valuable dollars to local Santa Clarita business. View additional information regarding the Santa Clarita Enterprise Zone.

 

Recycling Market Development Zones (RMDZ)

The zones are designed to encourage the use of recycled materials in product manufacturing, while encouraging reduction of waste from manufacturing. Qualifying businesses are eligible for low interest loans, financial assistance referrals, and waste exchange. Below are RMDZ forms and applications.

Film Incentive Program

This program will incentivize increased film production in Santa Clarita by subsidizing permit fees for productions based in Santa Clarita, while exploring opportunities to reduce costs of safety personnel, including fire and sheriff. Below are FIP forms and applications.

Building Improvement Grant Application

The Old Town Newhall Building Improvement Grant Program PDF Document will provide grants for commercial properties within a specified area to improve the visual appearance of buildings, improve a building’s structural integrity, and eliminate blight.

Development Streamline Process

This plan includes implementing technology solutions to accept plans and permits electronically, streamlining permit processes, and formalizing a free one-stop review for projects. This provides for greater efficiency and cost savings for developers and truly makes Santa Clarita a more business-friendly City. The complete online system will be available soon.
